If proof were needed, here, submitted, a photo circa mid 1964. Listening to 45s on the Firestone mono player that a boyfriend gave my mom. My parents said they could ask me to play X by Y and w/o the benefit of being able to read, I'd surely play X by Y. One thing I remember about the player is that it had tubes that had to warm up. It took about 20-30 seconds and you could hear the hum of the amplifier getting louder and warmer. I spent many years with this player. I still had it into my early teens when my parents bought me a Magnovox stereo consule. I didn't like it that much - but it was a great and kind thought by my parents; I wanted components and things you could add-on like 8-tracks and 4-tracks. Remember 4-tracks? I do.
