It's a bit late, I know, to take up the Harry Potter torch. But, I can't deny the rush I've felt this Saturday and last. I went to
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban last Saturday and today Amy and I watched

the first of the movies -
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. I sat down some years ago and attempted the first book, but got sidetracked. I do believe I will attempt it again. It's charming and predictable and owes much to Tolkien and Lucass - but, the series (and the movies) seem able to reconcile the darker forces with the lighter ones in a very disarming, engaging way. My only regret is that I wish these movies had been around 35 years ago when I was young enough to get thoroughly lost in them. Lost in the way I got lost in TV's
The Land of the Lost or the first
Star Wars.
Today was a quiet day. Some breakfast at Weaver Street then some hours of relaxation followed by the movie and a delicious
Amante Pizza.
I have Monday off. Theorectically, anyway.
